Instagram bio examples for barbers and hair stylists

Eight short bios you can adapt, with character counts and booking-link labels. Tell clients what you do, where you work, and what to do next.

Large editorial lettering pairs a clear speciality, a location, and a booking instruction.
On this page

Your bio has a small job. Help someone who liked a haircut understand whether you do that work nearby and how to book it. A slogan about confidence can wait until those questions are answered.

The examples below are fictional and deliberately short. Counts include spaces and line breaks exactly as written, but exclude the separate link title and URL. Recheck the count after replacing the name, location, or services. The text should sound like your business, not a template you forgot to finish.

Put each piece in the right place

The bio describes your work. The link field carries the destination. The link title tells people what opens. Avoid filling the bio with a long address that belongs in the links control.

An example bio broken into identity and location, offered services, and a clear booking instruction.
An editorial example, not a live Instagram profile. Replace every detail with something true of your business.

The Instagram booking-link guide covers the destination and client journey. Keep the wording consistent: if the bio says "colour consultation", the page should offer that service under a recognisable name.

Adapt the examples without making them vague

Replace the location before adding a slogan. Someone who discovers your work through a shared photo may not know which city you serve. Then choose two or three services that describe your actual work. You do not need to list the entire menu in the bio.

Avoid "DM for prices" if the booking page already gives those prices. A visitor should not need to start a conversation to confirm information you can publish clearly. Keep messaging available for a question that needs your judgement, such as whether a colour change needs a consultation.

Finally, read the bio beside your recent posts. Does the work match the specialism? Does a caption use the same service name as the menu? Use the gallery guide and service-menu examples to close any gaps.

Check the finished version on a phone

After saving, view the public profile. Check line breaks, spelling, and the first visible link. Open it and choose the service named in the bio.

Ask someone who does not know your business to identify your location, work, and next step. If they have to search through old posts for the answer, simplify the bio before adding more decoration.
